Co-Founder & CEO

Ed Engler is a veteran entrepreneur and investor, having founded or co-founded seven startups including Summa Technologies and mSpoke. He is also Managing Partner at Pittsburgh Equity Partners. He serves on the boards of the Pittsburgh Venture Capital Association and several private companies. Ed is a mentor at AlphaLab, an early-stage technology startup accelerator, and co-founder and director of Bike Pittsburgh. Ed graduated from Carnegie Mellon with a B.S. In Applied Math/Computer Science in 1986.

Rebecca Jacobson

Dr. Jacobson is Professor of Biomedical Informatics and Chief Information Officer for the Institute for Personalized Medicine at University of Pittsburgh. She is one of the creators of the Nexi technology. In her academic role, she continues to research and publish on clinical natural language processing, computable phenotyping, and federated biomedical data and resource sharing networks. Dr. Jacobson is Chair of the Nexi Scientific Advisory Board.

Girish Chavan

Girish Chavan is a product lead and full stack developer at the University of Pittsburgh, with over 13 years of experience developing commercializable biomedical informatics software. He is one of the creators of the Nexi technology. He freelances as a mobile app developer, and is passionate about elegant design in both technical architecture and user experience. He has a Masters in Information Science from University of Pittsburgh and a Bachelors in Engineering from University of Mumbai.

Eugene Tseytlin

Eugene Tseytlin is a systems architect with 15 years of software development experience. His professional interests include natural language processing (NLP), machine learning, digital microscopy and intelligent tutoring systems. Eugene is the creator of NOBLE Coder (a system for annotating text with ontologies) as well as SlideViewer (a vendor neutral whole slide image viewing framework). He has a Masters of Computer Science from University of Pittsburgh and a Bachelors in the same field from Penn State.

Previously Associate Professor of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine at University Pennsylvania Health Center, Dr. Feldman has been a Member of Medical Advisory Board at XIFIN, Inc. since May 13, 2014. He serves as a Member of the Advisory Board at Inspirata, Inc.

His professional interests revolve around the development, integration and adoption of information technologies in Pathology with a major focus in the field of digital imaging. He is exploring pathology imaging on several fronts, including interactions between pathology/radiology (high-resolution MRI imaging of prostate cancer); development and utilization of computer-assisted diagnostic algorithms for machine vision in prostate and breast cancer; and automated immunohistochemical and immunofluorescence scoring (including the use of multispectral imaging for multiplexing); and the development of a quantitative system for scoring and analyzing at a cytometric level.

Stephan is an awarded innovation executive, strategy consultant, and entrepreneur with over 25 years of international work experience across numerous industries including bio-pharmaceuticals and e-healthcare in companies ranging from FORBES Global 20 to startups. He held various senior roles including CEO and COO in startups as well as corporate business operations, strategy, regulatory compliance and global innovation roles.

Stephan is PMP certified and holds Masters Degrees in Computer Science, Management, and Business Administration as well as advanced degrees in Strategy, Innovation, and Leadership from leading schools in Europe and the United States including the MIT and IMD.

 

Sean O'Rourke

Sean has over 27 years of experience in healthcare information technology management and has most recently had a successful consulting practice from 2008-2017 focusing on product development in both regulated and unregulated software solutions targeting the healthcare provider markets. He has had progressive information technology management roles at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) for 18 years before exiting as CIO Service Lines and Products. He was also involved in a number of innovative initiates involving creation of or investment in software solutions that resulted in successful exits within the healthcare market. Sean has been actively involved at the regional and state level and led the statewide PA Regional Extension Center initiatives (PA REACH East and West) in the selection and model contract development for Ambulatory EHRs.
